Golf Tip - Putt with a Seven Iron

I am grateful to Trev who yesterday reminded me of how useful it can sometimes be to putt with a seven iron.

This is a shot you use when your ball is five or ten yards off the green and the flag is fifteen to twenty yards on the green.

The seven iron has just enough loft to lift the ball over the narrow fringe of unmown grass short of the green whilst at the same time having a sufficiently flat face to cause the ball to run on once it reaches the green.

To play the shot it is a good idea to grip the club in the same way as you grip your putter and play the shot like a putt.

It is a good idea to master the art of playing all sorts of different clubs from close around the green. It can be a lot of fun also.

All the best

All I can say is WOW David Ferrers. The other half and I just got back from our friends house (well her friends house) and I needed a huge break. I am working on a project right now that is based on dunlop golf equipment. I have literally been on-line for 2-3 hours doing research.
