Golf Tip - Use Your Feet to Read The Green

I have tried all sorts of ways to read greens.

I have tried 'plumbing' the line by holding the putter vertically in front of my eyes and looking down the line. That one does nothing for me personally but a lot of tournament players do it, so there is probably something in it.

I have tried measuring the number of balls left or right I should aim. But that doesn't work for me either.

What I have found does work is to stand behind my ball and look from the ball to the hole and just survey the green on and around the line of my putt.

What I do is let my body/mind system take in all the information and work it out for themselves.

Then, when I stand over the putt I find that I can feel the slope through my feet. I don't consciously aim one side of the hole or the other. I just let my body/mind system decide what to do.

All I do is try to put a smooth stroke on the putt and allow the blade of the putter to follow through over the hole.

All the best
